The American Idol judge could take the lead role in the screen adaptation of the videogame franchise Carmen Sandiego, which she co-produces.

Deadline.com reports that Walden Media has bought the film rights to franchise and intends to offer the actress the role of the famous thief.

Carmen Sandiego is a detective employed by the agency ACME, who becomes the the biggest thief in the world. She is followed by her former partner who attempts to discover whether she’s truly a heroine or an evil person.

Aimed at youth, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? has made the subject of an animated series for TV.

Disney worked on a feature film project in the late 1990s, but the film was never released.
