Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are engaged
The American singer has accepted the marriage proposal made by Eric Johnson, a former professional football player.
According to U.S. Weekly, Eric Johnson proposed to Jessica last Thursday, a proposal that the 30-yer-old singer had accepted.
A source close to the couple confirmed the news to People. The two lovers have been inseparable since May. In addition, Jessica Simpson was seen on Saturday with a huge ring on her left hand during an outing in Kansas City.
The news comes just days after Nick Lachey, Simpson’s ex-husband, announced his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo. Jessica and Nick were married from 2002 to 2006 and were the stars of a reality show, “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.”
Earlier this month, Pete Wentz, husband of Simpson’s younger sister, Ashlee, told People about Johnson, “He’s a really smart guy, and Jessica really loves him.”
In a recent interview, Simpson hinted that she might be walking down the aisle soon, saying “I am from the South, so I’ve definitely dreamed of being married my whole life and having children, so hopefully that’s in my future.”
