DeVante Swing, ex-leader of the ’90s R&B group Jodeci, was arrested in a subway restaurant in Burbank, CA, last weekend for public drunkenness.
When the police arrived, DeVante was so drunk that he was unable to walk straight and was crashing into tables in the establishment.
DeVante, whose real name is Donald DeGrate Jr., was arrested for being drunk in public and taken to a nearby jail where he spent six hours until the cops determined that he had finally sobered up. It seems that he will not be charged with a crime.
Jodeci was a hit R&B band famous in the early-to-late ’90s. It was composed of two pairs of brothers: the DeGrates — Donald “DeVante Swing” DeGrate and Dalvin DeGrate — and the Haileys — Cedric “K-Ci” Hailey and Joel “Jo-Jo” Hailey.
