Katy Perry and Russell Brand respond to divorce rumors

Katy Perry responded by comparing speculation about her divorce to a soap opera.

“First I’m pregnant & then I’m divorced,” she tweeted. “What am I All My Children?! #ericakane #pshhh #ifihadadollarforeverytime…”

Perry helped announce the Grammy nominations Wednesday night and snagged two of them herself. She wore her wedding ring, of course.

In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres airing Friday, the British funnyman addressed rumors that he and wife Katy Perry are on the verge of divorce.

“There are always rumors, aren’t there? In the end you have to just not engage with Internet technology, which is difficult because a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy,” he joked.

“I’ve treated the whole Internet now like it’s a wicked little liar. Yeah. I am really happily married,” he added. “I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge.”

“Being famous is like a little bit of you is taken away and goes off and lives on its own and does what it wants,” Brand explained. “I wish it would do more interesting things.”

Asked about starting a family, Brand said he’s open to the idea.

“I would like one. I love those little babies in the beginning,” he said.

Katy Perry, 27, and Russell Brand, 36, have been married since October 2010.
