Katy Perry and Russell Brand spent Christmas apart after heated argument

Many wondered why instead of singing Christmas carols with her ​​hubby, the singer was seen without her wedding ring, surfing the wave in the Pacific Ocean off Kauai with her friends.

Brand had lunch in a pub in the village of Coverack and then attended a charity event organized by his friend, comedian David Baddiel.

“They had a massive fight,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “She was like, ‘F–k you. I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, f–k you too.’”

The couple’s decision to spend the holidays apart is fueling rumors that their marriage is on the rocks, especially as this isn’t the first time such reports surface.

Yet, Russell Brand has recently denied rumors of separation in a November interview with Ellen DeGeneres, saying the Internet is full of lies.

“In the end you have to just not engage with Internet technology, which is difficult because a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy. But they’ve had to go! … I’ve treated the whole Internet now like it’s a wicked little liar… I am really happily married,” he said at the time.

For her part, Katy had her share of denial regarding baby and divorce rumors.

Katy, 27, and Russell, 36, met in September 2009 and married in a grand ceremony in India on October 23, 2010.
