Kylie Minogue in tears on Australian TV

Invited on an Australian television channel, Kylie Minogue broke down in tears as remembered the difficult period in her life when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I don’t think the public really saw,” she remembered. “I stayed indoors and it was my family who supported me through really rotten dark moments.”

The singer also spoke of the painful memory of a conversation she had five years ago with a little girl with cancer, while she was in the hospital. Overwhelmed with emotion and memories, Kylie had to leave the room to get a tissue.

She said: “I remember one moment there where I was talking to some parents across the other side of a bed. They caught me off guard and eyeballed me and said, ‘How are you? We hope you get through it.’”

“The reason that that gets me is that it’s the greatest part of my job and what I do is the humanity of it,” she explained.

During the interview, Kylie hinted she might marry her boyfriend, 32-year-old Spanish model Andres Velencoso, and that she would like to adopt a baby.

42-year Kylie Minogue now speaks of her illness in the past. She has shown great courage from the beginning of her cancer diagnosis in 2005 and emphasizes the importance of prevention and screening as the disease detected in time can reduce the risk or even make it completely disappear.
