While Michael Jackson’s personal physician was trying in vain to resuscitate the singer, two of the King of Pop’s children, Paris and Prince, entered his bedroom.
“Paris screamed, ‘Daddy,’ and she started crying,” Alberto Alvarez, a logistics director for Jackson, said in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday. Upon hearing this, Janet, Michael’s sister, shook her head while Katherine, the matriarch of the Jackson clan, shed tears.
Alvarez gave his testimony on the second day of the preliminary hearing of Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal physician. The judge must determine whether the health professional will stand trial for manslaughter following the singer’s death.
When Paris and Paris entered the room, Murray reportedly shouted “Get them out! Get them out! Don’t let them see their father like this,” Alvarez said.
In June 2009, Paris was 11 years old and Prince, 12. Michael Jackson was lying on his back, eyes and mouth open while Murray attempted mouth-to mouth resuscitation. The artist was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
