Michael Jackson trial: “it’s abundantly clear” that Conrad Murray is guilty, prosecutor claims

The evidence against Dr. Conrad Murray is “overwhelming” and “it’s abundantly clear” that he is responsible for the death of Michael Jackson, the lead prosecutor told jurors in closing arguments Thursday.

The trial of MJ’s personal physician ends today with the closing arguments of both parties.

“Conrad Murray left Prince, Paris and Blanket without a father,” Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney David Walgren said. “For them, this case doesn’t end today, or tomorrow. For Michael’s children, this case will go on forever, because they do not have a father, they do not have a father because of the actions of Conrad Murray.”

Walgren said the doctor acted arbitrarily by administering the singer a fatal dose of propofol, a powerful sedative.

He called Murray ’s practices “a pharmaceutical experiment on Michael Jackson… an obscene experiment.”

Walgren also talked about the pain Jackson ‘s death caused for his children.

“We will discuss how Paris had to come in and see her father in that condition and scream out ‘Daddy’ as she broke down in tears,” Walgren said. “How Prince had a shocked face, a shocked look on his face and was crying.”

The prosecution’s closing arguments were followed by those of the defense.

Murray ‘s defense attorney Ed Chernoff told the jury, “They want you to convict Dr. Murray for the actions of Michael Jackson … they just don’t want to tell you that.”

“They can’t prove a crime … and they REALLY need to prove a crime,” Chernoff fired back.

“Dr. Murray did NOT kill Michael Jackson,” he said, insisting it was Michael Jackson who self administered prescription medication.

“Michael Jackson went into his personal bathroom and swallowed Lorazepam and Dr. Murray didn’t know,” Chernoff said.

The 12 jurors will begin deliberations on Friday.
