Miley Cyrus takes Nirvana on stage (VIDEO)
Miley Cyrus has paid tribute to Nirvana by performing one of the band’s famous songs on stage, to everyone’s surprise.
Miley Cyrus is a big fan of Nirvana and as she wanted you to know that she decided to pay tribute to the legendary group on stage. The 18-year-old Disney star actually wanted to perform Kurt Cobain’s rock hit in her own style.
It was during her show at the Stade Olimpico Atahualpa in Ecuador on April 29 that Miley Cyrus tackled the very famous Smells Like Teen Spirit. The girl didn’t really impress with her performance, and it’s likely that half of the audience didn’t even know the song, but Miley was eager to sing it on stage.
“For this tour, I want to be able to do the music that inspired me and made me want to be on this stage tonight,” Cyrus, who’s currently on her Gypsy Heart tour, announced to the crowd. “It’s hard being on the road because you miss your family back home, and this song is something I always sing with my little brother who can’t be with me on tour, so this song is also for him.”
