Miranda Lambert says mom’s wedding dress was a “good luck charm”

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton married on Saturday, May 14, in Texas in front of 550 family and friends.

On the occasion, the bride wore the same ivory strapless wedding dress that her mother Beverly had worn when she married Miranda’s dad, Rick, 30 years ago.

“My parents have been married for 33 years, so this dress is already a good-luck charm,” she told Us Magazine.

She wore the dress with a pair of custom-made Casadei cowboy boots. As she walked down the aisle, her new husband, Shelton, got teary eyed. “I couldn’t get over how beautiful she was,” he said.

For his part, the groom sported boots, jeans and a gray jacket and matching vest.

“Miranda told me she wants me to be comfortable,” Blake said before the wedding. “She said, ‘I want you to wear your blue jeans and boots, and we’ll find you a cool jacket,’ which shocked the hell out of me!”

For the reception, Miranda changed into a short, strapless silk shantung Priscilla of Boston dress.

Lambert, who will soon be changing her name to Shelton, said: “I’m married to my best friend!”
