One year after King’s death: conspiracy, controversy and commemorations

After one year since Michael Jackson died, fans around the world prepare to commemorate him.

The King of Pop has not been forgotten after his death, beating record after record even if he is no longer among us. His popularity reached unprecedented levels since the days in which he made hit after hit.

First year without Jackson, but with endless controversy and allegations relating to the years of the his life, is commemorated by millions of fans around the world.

It is expected that pilgrimage to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, where Michael Jackson is buried, exceed the normal flow. Thereby some restrictions were introduced: is prohibited, for example, access to fans in the mausoleum. They also will not be allowed to sleep in tents or to sit on chairs, on the sidewalk.

Saturday evening will hold a tribute concert in Beverly Hills hotel, where tickets will cost between 150 and 500 dollars.

Superstar died on June 25, 2009, at age 50 following a drug overdose in his Los Angeles residence. Last year the homage ceremony to Michael Jackson from inside Staples Center in LA, 11,000 fans were present chosen by lot and under the careful supervision of police, who feared the incident.

Although Michael died on June 25, funeral took place in September.

Artist was buried after 70 days of the registration of his death.
