Paul McCartney is getting married for the third time

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell are engaged, sources tell People. The couple had been together for four years.

“Nancy and Paul are getting married. Ring and all – very exciting,” a source close to the New York businesswoman said.

The former Beatle, 68, and Shevell, 51, began dating in the summer of 2007 while in the Hamptons, a popular resort area in upstate New York.

Despite the 17 years that separates them, McCartney and his girlfriend get along perfectly.

“They have the right chemistry. They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic,” another source tells People.

On Monday, the couple attended the gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

This will be the third marriage for McCartney. He married Linda Eastman in 1969 but she died of cancer in 1998. He then married Heather Mills in 2002. That union ended with a tumultuous divorce in 2008.

Shevell is reportedly much appreciated by the musician’s children.
