Director Quentin Tarantino wants Lady Gaga to star in his next feature film, titled “Django Unchained”, informs the electronic edition of the magazine New Musical Express.

According to British tabloid Daily Mirror, Tarantino wants to meet Lady Gaga at the Cannes Film Festival – where the singer held on Wednesday evening a surprise concert – to offer her a role in his next feature film.

“It’s no secret Quentin’s been eyeing up Gaga for a role in one of his up-and-coming films. And now they’re both in Cannes, he’s keen to show off his movie star credentials,” a source said.

Lady Gaga is a fan of the American director and demonstrated this last year when the video for “Telephone”, a duet with Beyonce, took inspiration from a few scenes from the “Kill Bill” series directed by Tarantino.

Tarantino has recently confirmed that his next film titled “Django Unchained” will be made on the basis of a script that he recently completed.

International press claims that this film will be a Western placed during slavery. The film, which will present the story of a slave who takes revenge on his former master, is inspired by both “Django” directed by Sergio Corbucci in 1966, but also by the Japanese remake directed in 2007 by Takashi Miike , entitled “Sukiyaki Western Django,” in which Tarantino had a special appearance as the character Ringo.

Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz are part of the cast and filming will start in autumn this year.
