Rihanna and boyfriend Matt Kemp are separated

She separated from her boyfriend, baseball player Matt Kemp, 26, according to Us Weekly, after nearly a year of romance.

“It happened over the last few weeks,” a source told U.S. Weekly. “She basically was just over it.”

The singer’s infernal schedule seems to be the reason for their split.

“Matt’s sick of always following after her like a puppy dog all over the world. He wants something more normal,” the source adds. “It was never as serious as it looked. It was always just [about] having fun.”

The couple began dating earlier this year, but they went official about their love in spring. The LA Dodgers player helped the performer turn the page on her history with Chris Brown, who assaulted her in February 2009.

The siren of Barbados will also be able to enjoy the success of her latest album “Loud”, whose latest single “What’s My Name” is sweeping the airwaves. Moreover, she doesn’t seem too affected by the separation since she’s currently jet-skiing with her brother Rajad and dinning with Philip Green, the Topshop CEO, and Simon Cowell.
