Rihanna still sparking controversy with video for Man Down

Rihanna’s new video for Man Down was released on Tuesday. In the clip we see the red-haired singer shot a man in the back and then watch him lie in blood.

The man she shots turns out to be her aggressor in the video, leading the audience to see Rihanna’s gesture as vengeance.

The clip, like that of S & M, is already causing a heated debated. The Parents Television Council released a statement on Wednesday in which they condemn the video, arguing that it ca be an incentive for young women to turn to violence.

In response to the criticism, Rihanna twitted: “What’s up with everybody wantin me to be a parent?”

“I’m a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What’s up with everybody wantin me to be a parent? I’m just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!”

She continued, “We have the freedom to make art, LET US! Its your job to make sure they dont turn out like US.”

“U can’t hide your kids from society, or they’ll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD.”
