A screenplay written by rapper Tupac Shakur, while in prison, will be turned into a movie next year. “Live 2 Tell” presents the life of a teenager, the head of a drug distribution group, who wants to change his destiny.
The script was purchased by the executives at NStar Studios who have established a budget of $ 11 million for the film. Production will begin next year, informs nme.com.
“This kid was a genius, and the net of it is, he was from this community, he knew the struggles these young people were dealing with,” said Ivan Juzang, representative of NStar Studios. “And he’s able to talk to young people in 2011, 2012, the same way he was able to talk to young people in 1995.”
“We think that the name we need is the name we have, which is Tupac Shakur,” Holmes said.
This film is not the only project which is related to Tupac Shakur. Morgan Creek Productions studios want to make a film about the hip-hop star’s life.
