Hip-hop singer Sean Kingston was hospitalized Sunday night after a jet ski accident in Florida.

Kingston crashed into the Palm Island Bridge while they were coming from MacArthur Causeway, according to Jorge Pino, spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. An investigation is underway to determine the exact causes of the incident.

Sean Kingston and the passenger who was with him were treated at the Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Sean Kingston’s condition has improved, the singer’s publicist, Joseph Carozza, announced: “Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU. Sean’s family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time.”

“A good Samaritan tended to the two of them until Miami Beach Fire Rescue arrived and saw there were injuries,” said Jorge Pino.

According to him, there is no indication that alcohol was the cause of the accident.

“Nine times out of 10, recklessness on the water involving personal watercraft contributes to accidents,” he said. “That is not necessarily the cause of this one, but we spend a lot of time patrolling the areas looking for violations with jet skis and motor boats.”
