Six months after having formalized their relationship, Justin Bieber, 17, and Selena Gomez, 19, are still very much in love.

The couple didn’t hesitate to commit and recently adopted a 10-week-old husky mix that they named Baylor from a shelter in Winnipeg, Canada.

“They spent a lot of time with the puppies,” the rescue’s chief executive officer, D’Arcy Johnston, told People. “I was told that [Gomez] was missing the dogs that she has at home.”

Selena Gomez is known to be an animal lover as she already owns five dogs, Willy, Wallace, Fina, Chip and Chazz, and has advocated for the adoption of abandoned animals in the past.

“I wasn’t expecting her to adopt a dog while she was on tour and has a busy schedule,” Johnston said.

“Baylor probably would have had a bad life or a very short life,” he added. “But he got rescued and brought to our shelter and is now going to live a very good life.”
