Selena Gomez cancels gigs as her mom suffers miscarriage
Sad news for the singer as her mother, whose pregnancy we announced recently, has been the victim of a miscarriage.
According to E! Online, Selena had to cancel her scheduled performances at the B96 Jingle Bash 2011 in Chicago Saturday and the 106.1 KISS FM Jingle Bell Bash in Seattle Sunday, preferring to remain with her mother in order to provide support in this terrible ordeal.
The miscarriage occurred on Friday and Selena was quickly informed. She was then attending the Power 106′s Cali Christmas 2011 concert in Los Angeles. On hearing the news, she immediately rushed home to her mother.
A spokesman for the 19-year-old singer told the site that Selena is OK, explaining that the cancellation was due to a “family emergency.”
At the end of November Selena took to Twitter to share her excitement over becoming a big sister with her fans.
“Momma [Mandy Teefy] and [step-father] Brian are finally letting me share the news. My mommy’s carrying my baby brother or sister I’m the happiest girl in the world!” she wrote.
