Shania Twain marries two weeks after her engagement
A true saga twist. Country singer Shania Twain has remarried.
And the lucky winner, Frederic Thiebaud, is none other than … the ex-husband of the woman that Twain’s husband of 14 years, Robert “Mutt” Lange, allegedly left her for in 2008.
The union was celebrated on New Year’s Day on the island of Puerto Rico, in the Caribbean.
“They were married at sunset in front of 40 of their closest family and friends,” Twain’s rep, Jason Owen, said in a statement on the Canadian singer’s website.
The couple announced their engagement last month. Shania Twain, 45, divorced producer Robert Lange two years ago, after fourteen years of marriage.
The singer wrote about Thiebaud on her blog in 2009: “(Thiebaud) has been the most constant companion of support for both Eja and me, and having gone through the suffering of his family splitting apart at the same time under the same extreme circumstances, he understood me better than anyone.”
In a letter written on her blog last month, Twain announced her engagement to Thiebaud.
“I am very excited to share this news with you personally, I’m in love! Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud was a gift for me. I found him a friend and sensitive listening. Over time, an extraordinary love sprang from the friendship.”
