Taylor Momsen explains why she’s so dark and miserable

by Nicole
November 12, 2010 at 2:58 pm

The 17-year-old star has some accounts to settle.

The least we can say is that since her debut as Jenny Humphrey in “Gossip Girl”, Taylor Momsen’s look has changed!

In recent months, she became more and more platinum blonde, her outfits have changed in a provocative way, and her taste for the Gothic style and spread black makeup has grown … Not to mention that since she performs with her band, The Pretty Reckless, she started using bad words and she’s becoming less sympathetic.

But why Taylor feels more and more disillusioned when she is only 17 can be explained: it is because of her parents!

“Everyone’s like, ‘Wow, why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?’ My parents signed me up with Ford [modeling agency] at the age of two. No 2-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice,” she said in an interview.

It seems like we have another star who is about to flip out…

Nicole: Will you plz actually reply to my comments?
I’m certainly not writing here for lack of better things to do.

I’m not into flame throwing BS; I’d simply like to hear your explaination..or defense of..a few things.

COOL? Will you? Please, Nicole…MY opinions may be factually wrong. Maybe I need enlightenment–I’m being serious, OK?
    SO……..

    1. FOR SAKE OF CLARITY:
-this industry eats the young. Agents/managers/PARENTS/& so on see that young person as an investment -period.
The younger, the better ..THE MORE MONEY, because MORE YEARS OF MONEY ON THEIR INVESTMENT.

I am NOT shouting in those CAPS… I’m EMPHASIZING.
EVERY child “star” has breakdowns. They often “medicate” themselves w/booze, drugs..whatever.

Taylor has been in the industry for 15 years.
At 17 yrs. old, she’s seen, heard & experienced more than a 70 yr. old. I’M DEAD SERIOUS.
Imagine her life up to now-
    YOU CAN’T.
    Taylor never had a childhood.
She has had to work while the other kid’s played outside & she endured auditions & pressured to be the best & get the job.
When she didn’t get it, she didn’t feel loved. She failed.
Failed the audition, failed to please mommy & daddy–
    “NEVER GOOD ENOUGH”

“Not to mention that since she performs with her band, The Pretty Reckless, she started using bad words and she’s becoming less sympathetic.”

-> “she started using bad words”

    …probably around 6 yrs. old.
If you somehow have valid proof of her using “bad words” ONLY since being in her band, can you prove me wrong?
I have NO problem w/being proven wrong.
(BTW- what ARE “bad” words? ; )

–> “It seems like we have another star who is about to flip out…”

    uhh…WHO has become less sympathetic?

I felt NO sympathy from you, for Taylor, in what you wrote.

    Additionally, it’s …(trying to be polite about this…NOT anger…)
..I find that last statement really offensive.
As if it’s entertaining to you –seeing & hearing about the substance abuse problems & mental breakdowns.
    THAT IS NOT ENTERTAINING.
See.. THAT is actually the REAL problem:
People want to see the outcome of those in the industry since childhood, cuz usually the outcome is a HORRID outcome; and people don’t THINK. THINK about the pain these people deal with.
Being rich, famous… it does NOT mean “no pain”, “all fun & glamorous”….”what is so & so whining about..the money, trips, clothes, stardom..etc.”

Taylor, I STRONGLY DOUBT, will be a tragic story. Wanna know why?
READ THE LYRICS TO EVERY SONG ON HER CD.

Taylor say’s everything (& more) that I’ve just pointed out to you. Her band will most likely be what saves her from the usual outcome, because she’s taking-out allllllllllll the BS & PAIN of what it’s TRULY like to be a 17yr. old industry veteran who has seen it/done it/is dealing with ALL THE HORRORS OF GROWING-UP IN THE INDUSTRY.

BTW: As a musician myself, I KNOW how therapeutic it is to kill your demons through your music.
AND– SHE IS HONESTLY VERY, VERY TALENTED.
We are in the process of having her band open for us on our upcoming tour.
And if time won’t permit, we’d like to have her on my other bands next tour as our opening act.

So, how about a reply Nicole?? Who knows- maybe I’ll set ya up w/all access passes for you & some friends if we are lucky enough to have The Pretty (TAYLOR MOMSEN) Reckless out w/us.

And you can apologise in pweson & explain how little you knew about the entertainment industry when you wrote this piece & we can all have a nice time.
