Taylor Swift donates 6,000 books to Pennsylvania library

Taylor Swift is donating 6,000 books to the four public libraries in Reading, Pennsylvania, the town where she was born.

Swift, in association with publisher Scholastic Inc., donated the books for children and young adults to libraries in the Pennsylvania city of Reading .

The donation from the country singer was unveiled Thursday. The books will be marked with a white star on the spine and a sticker inside identifying Taylor Swift as the donor.

Library Director Frank Kasprowicz said the donation is the largest made to the library in recent years.

Librarians hope Swift’s popularity will motivate children and teenagers to read.
