While Britney Spears is at the top since Tuesday with the release of her latest single, Hold It Against Me, a1970s group resurfaced for redress.
According to members of the Bellamy Brothers, Britney had plagiarized a sentence of one of their title, If I Said I Want Your Body Now, which dates from 1979.
In the chorus, the singer continued: “So, if I said I want your body now, Would You Hold It Against Me?” and it is in these few words that the team leader sees a clear resemblance. The duo’s song then sang: “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me?”
Of course, the singers wasted no time in denouncing this injustice. They told the TMZ they had “no personal beef” with Britney, however, “in all honesty, we feel completely ripped off. Where’s the originality?”
It only remains to see Britney and her team’s reaction to the attack.
