The Jacksons confess to Oprah in an interview full of surprising revelations

Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the parents and children of Michael Jackson was broadcast yesterday.

During the interview, Winfrey discussed several topics with the Jackson family, including their feelings about the King of Pop’s death and the kind of father he was.

However, the most surprising revelation of this interview undoubtedly came from the singer’s father, Joe Jackson, who admitted whipping his son during his youth.

Michaels’ father tried to avoid openly admitting that he “beat” his kids. “I don’t [regret the beatings],” he said.”It kept them out of jail and kept them right. ”

Joe was initially defensive about his relationship with Michael, insisting: “I don’t think he was afraid of me. What he was afraid of, he may do something wrong and I’d chastise him but not beat him. I never beat him like the media tried to say. ”

However, he was forced to admit he used the strap on his nine children when his wife Katherine stepped in.

You might as well admit it,” Katherine told Joe. “That’s the way black people raise their children. … He used a strap.”

Katherine also talked about how Michael was never the same after his 2005 molestation case.

“All his life, he had to go through stuff like this, and they were just lying on him,” she said, asserting that she never questioned his innocence in the matter.

“I never thought [he could be guilty of molestation], because I know he wouldn’t,” Katherine said. “He loved children, he was around children all the time.”

Regarding the day of her son’s death, Katherine Jackson said it was the worst of her life.

Also, Michael Jackson’s kids, Prince, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8, remembered very beautiful moments with their father.

”I kinda felt like no one understands what a good father he was,” Paris, 12, told Winfrey. “I’d say he was the best cook ever. He was just a normal dad, except he was the best dad.”

“When we did go out without our dad, other people wouldn’t recognize us,” Paris continued. “He tried to raise us without [us] knowing who he was, but that didn’t go so well.”

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, from an overdose of propofol.
