Twilight star Nikki Reed and American Idol contestant Paul McDonald wed in Malibu

The couple said “I do” after 6 months of romance. The Twilight star and former American Idol contestant met in March and announced their engagement in June.

A rep confirmed that the two stars united their destinies in front of 100 guests on Sunday.

“We couldn’t be happier!” the couple said in a statement. “[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!”

Reed and McDonald first met at the premiere of Red Riding Hood in March. The two have been open about their relationship in the media.

“I love her to death,” he told MTV News in June. “She’s amazing. It’s kind of one of those things you don’t expect. Like, last year I never would have thought I’d be getting married. She’s amazing. She’s the perfect girl. We fit each other. When you know, you know, and she’s the one.”
