Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama on the guest list at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding

After we found out that Chelsea Clinton will tie the knot with fiancé Marc Mezvinsky in the upstate New York village of Rhinebeck on July 31, we also heard rumors that President Barack Obama is on the guest list.

A local resident who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the resident isn’t authorized to divulge the information, says Clinton and Mezvinsky will wed at a private mansion just outside the town about two hours north of New York City.

The Hudson Valley News is reporting that the wedding will take place at the former estate of John Jacob Astor IV. That property has breathtaking mountain and river views and is situated about 70 miles away from the Clintons’ family home in Chappaqua, N.Y.

Hillary Clinton doesn’t say a word about Chelsea’s wedding. “My lips are sealed”, she told NBC’s Andrea Mitchell in a Today Show segment this morning. “I am under very strict orders not to talk about it.”

However rumors say that Chelsea Clinton has reportedly tapped bridal icon Vera Wang to design her wedding gown. Also the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and Oprah Winfrey are among the guests, although a spokeswoman for the Clintons declined to comment this information.

“The people who are coming are her friends and the people who are meaningful in her life,” the Secretary of State said.

Among other guests are singer Barbra Streisand, Kate Capshaw and Steven Speilberg, former Clinton advisor Harold Ickes, Clinton money man Terry McAuliffe, former British Prime Minister John Major, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, media moguls Ted Turner and long-time Clinton friend Denise Rich.

Chelsea is the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Marc Mezvinsky, her fiancé, is an investment banker in New York.

3 Opinions to “Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama on the guest list at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding”

  1. Eva says:

Chelsea Clinton has had her face made over God knows how many times, and she is still homely; note the profile and close-ups if you can see them. (ugh) Moreover, in watching her campaigning for her mother in 2008 I took note that she is completely lacking in charm, charisma and warmth, which, were those qualities there, might more than make up for her Howdy Doody looks. But she is surly, guarded, and speaks in quite a monotone. I determined she is highly intelligent and that is about all. She and her future husband will be the most blah-ordinary looking Jewish couple in all of NY and given that I know people Ms. Clinton attended Stanford/Oxford with, I can safely say that were she not a Clinton, no boys would have come calling.
