Oprah Winfrey gave 275 copies of the future VW Beetle

Volkswagen presented during the beloved U.S. TV show the silhouette of the new generation VW Beetle, the first official appearance of a teaser about the new “turtle.” Choosing the show was not hard as Oprah is recognized in the U.S. as one of the biggest fans and ambassadors of the German model.

The surprise presentation of Beetle’s first teaser was even greater for those 275 members of the public, who were announced live that they would receive, immediately after releasing the new Beetle in the U.S., a copy of the German model.

”Oprah Winfrey and Volkswagen Beetle are two American legends. In these circumstances, when Oprah proposed us that incredible opportunity to share the Beetle experience with its audience, we instantly wanted to take part in this project,” said Jonathan Browning, U.S. Volkswagen director. All 275 people in attendance received their new car keys, and they are also exempt from the required registration fees.

The new VW Beetle generation will be presented next spring and it will appear in showrooms until the end of the year. According to Volkswagen official’s announcement, the new Beetle will benefit from the same line neo-modern lines that have sailed around the world, but it will also be equipped with the latest technological systems.
