“The two do not want to know the gender in advance, but I’m sure it will be a girl, as beautiful as Carla,” the President’s father, Pal Sarkozy, told Bild, one of the most read newspapers in Europe.

On Monday, invited on the French television station TF1, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy neither confirmed nor denied the pregnancy rumors, when a journalist “congratulated” her, without specifying why he did that.

The international press has published numerous articles in recent weeks about a possible pregnancy of the first lady of France. A week ago, the international media said the French president’s wife is pregnant with twins.

Carla Bruni, 43, former model and singer, has a 10-year-old son, whose father is a philosophy professor Raphaël Enthoven. Nicolas Sarkozy, 56, has three sons, between the ages of 25 and 13, with his two former wives.
