They’re both First Ladies and they’re competing over who is the most controversial, but, Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy have something in common: they’re the wives of the presidents.
Their meetings were analyzed, speculated and probably exaggerated, but fact is – they were highly commented.
Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy met for the first time at the NATO summit, which marked the 60th anniversary of the North Atlantic Alliance, held in Strasbourg and Kehl.
U.S. First Lady, Michelle Obama, gave a guitar to the wife of the French President, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, “a sign of friendship” during their meeting at the NATO summit in Strasbourg, said a source from Elysee Palace.
The former model, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, is also a singer. She already released three albums, and plays songs written by her, and sometimes plays the guitar.
Carla Bruni talks about sex in four different languages in a TV recording, in 1996.
In the recording posted on the Internet, she asks Antoine de Caunes, show host, in German, Italian and Spanish: “Do you like my titties?”
Carla Bruni has made sexual confessions to Michelle Obama, during the French presidential couple’s visit to America, confessing that she and her husband, Nicolas Sarkozy, left another head of state to wait, because they preferred to have sex.
Carla Bruni, reveals in a new book that Michelle Obama told her that being the First Lady of the United States “It’s hell.”
During a private conversation, which took place at the White House during an official visit by Nicolas Sarkozy last March, Carla Bruni allegedly said in the book “Carla And The Ambitious” that Mrs Obama replied when asked about her position as the U.S. president’s wife: ‘Don’t ask! It’s hell. I can’t stand it!’
The book was written by journalists Michael Darmon and Yves Derai who claim that this was a collaboration with Carla Bruni.
Carla Bruni describes herself as demanding, spoilt, and selfish, says one of the French authors about the French First Lady.
She also gives extraordinary insight into her life as the wife of a leader – and her relationship with some of the most prominent figures in the world, including the American president.
“On the advice of the Obamas,”‘ she says, “We don’t read the papers in the morning any more.”
She does not speak to the American First Lady very often, she adds, but said that she likes her and “could be her friend.”
In response to the explosive claims that Michelle Obama told Carla Bruni that life as in the White House was “hell”, Mrs Obama’s spokesman slapped down the claims and the French Embassy in Washington also released a statement denying that Mrs. Obama ever said those words.
Also, the Elysee Palace has denied that Carla Bruni co-operated with the biography but journalists Michael Darmon and Yves Derai, who wrote the book, claim that this was indeed a collaboration with Ms Bruni.
The Forbes annual list of the world’s most powerful women, released late Wednesday, includes also Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, Beyonce Knowles and Ellen DeGeneres.
No. 1 on the list is First Lady Michelle Obama. Forbes didn’t calculate her and her husband’s personal wealth or money earned in the last year, choosing instead to list in that category the country’s national budget, which is $3.5 trillion. That’s odd.
