Speculation on the name of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress designer has been abundant ever since the engagement was announced. Now, a new name has been added to the list of potential designers: Sophie Cranston.
After the Daily Mail recently speculated that Kate might her own designer, new reports have appeared in the media, claiming the future princess has settled upon Sophie Cranston.
Since the weekend, she is in all columns of the British press. Known almost exclusively in the world of fashion, 34-year-old Cranston has previously worked in Alice Temperley and Alexander McQueen workshops before founding her own label, more modest than that of her mentors, Libélula.
During the past 24 hours, interest in her creations has grown due to the publicity related to the royal wedding, and the Libélula website crashed, according to the label’s press contact.
Visitors are now greeted with a message that reads: Due to our recent press coverage the site has received overwhelming traffic, causing technical issues.
