Washington Redskins’ defensive superstar, Albert Haynesworth, faces an assault charge following an incident of road rage.
The 29-year-old player hasn’t been arrested yet, but he plans to turn himself in to authorities next week.
The incident allegedly occurred Wednesday morning. The other driver involved, a 38-year-old man driving a Honda Civic, reportedly made a “non verbal hand gesture” to the driver of a pickup truck (presumably Haynesworth) who was following too closely, according to the Washington Post.
When both vehicles came to a stop at a red light, Haynesworth got out and after a brief verbal exchange, allegedly assaulted the other man. He then left the scene. The victim said he recognized Haynesworth as the aggressor.
