AllThingsD claims that a new, smaller 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro will be presented alongside an iPad Mini at the rumored October 23rd Apple media event.

The 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro is expected to feature the same design specs as its 15-inch MacBook Pro models released in June at WWDC.

According to the site’s sources, it will come with a 2560 x 1600 resolution display and will support all-Flash storage.

Citing a “consistently reliable source at a high-profile U.S. retailer,” 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman reported yesterday that Apple may also announce a 13-inch MacBook Pro with high-resolution Retina display at the rumored October 23rd media event.

An update to the Mac mini is also expected at the event.
