A photo of what is claimed to be the tweaked version of Apple’s iPad has leaked online.

The photo was published by Apple.pro and shows the 9.7-inch iPad featuring a small dock hole that is believed to support Apple’s new Lightning connector.

The modified case is placed atop the current iPad with the 30-pin dock connector.

On top of the new case is a Lightning flex cable that appears to perfectly fit the new slot.

Apple is expected to announce a refreshed version of the iPad 3 at its media event next week.

According to a recent report, this new iPad version may come with global LTE support, similar to the iPhone 5.

The iPad Mini, a 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro, updated iMacs and updated Mac minis are also rumored to be presented at the October 23rd Apple media event.
