The AlphaDog is the latest technological achievement of Boston Dynamics, a robotics company.

The next-generation robotic dog is said to be the soldier’s future best friend out on the battlefield, assisting him in his mission.

The AlphaDog can carry up to 400 pounds of equipment, with enough fuel for a trip of 20 miles over 24 hours. The robot can be programmed to follow a leader or to reach a particular destination, using sensors and built-in GPS.

Alpha Dog is the successor of a robot called the BigDog that could run on any type of terrain like a dog.
