Rumors about the arrival of a 15” MacBook Air have been rife for some time now.

According to an anonymous vendor who spoke to Electric Pig, Apple is preparing for the launch of a 15-inch MacBook Air in April.

The vendor, described as “a key player in MacBook docking solutions”, claims the 15-inch version will effectively kill off the MacBook Pro for the average consumer.

The device is rumored to feature ports on both sides and it won’t support an optical drive or an Ethernet port.

The source also claimed that their company’s manufacturers are prepared to start building and shipping a new product in less than 90 days.

Rumors of a 15-inch device first surfaced in July 2011 when TUAW reported that Apple was considering releasing a 17-inch version, covering all screen sizes in this way.
