The two major brands are in competition on the smartphone market and their flagship devices resemble significantly.

While the release of the iPhone 5 is set for the fall of this year, the Samsung Galaxy S3 came out on May 29.

Here is a technical comparison of the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3.

Samsung’s quad-core processor 1.4GHz Exynos processor, armed with 1GB of RAM makes the device the most powerful smartphone in the world.

Some interesting features of this smartphone are its wireless charging and the Direct call and Stay Smart functions.

The Samsung Galaxy S III boasts a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280-by-720-pixel resolution.

As for the iPhone 5, the handset is expected to be thinner and come with a larger 4-inch in-cell screen. It is also rumored to feature NFC and 4G LTE technology and a smaller dock connector.

The next iPhone may have a 16:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 1136-by-640 pixels.

The device is likely to feature a metal back panel and an HD front-facing camera.

As for specs, the smartphone is expected to come with improved Siri, Facebook integration, Apple’s own Maps app with turn-by-turn navigation and 3D renderings of cities and more.
