The Apple stores will close on Wednesday morning, so that employees can watch a webcast honoring Steve Jobs.
This measure concerns a priori all the Apple Store in the world. Employees in other stores around the world will be entitled to watch a re-broadcast of the memorial.
The event is also accompanied by the closure of the online Apple Store.
The service will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PST at the outdoor amphitheater at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, according to Reuters.
Last Sunday, a private service was held under tight security at the Stanford Memorial Church in the presence of personalities in the world of high-tech such as Bill Clinton, Bill Gates and Google CEO Larry Page.
Steve Jobs, universally hailed as a visionary behind many inventions that have revolutionized the information technology, died at 56 on October 5 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Laurene, and four children.
