Apple may update its iOS devices to support the smaller dock connector that is expected to be featured on the iPhone 5.

The company is expected to release new versions of its iDevices in the fall.

iMore reports that the iPhone 5, the new iPod nano and iPod touch, the rumored iPad mini and an updated version of the current iPad are among the products Apple plans to update.

Citing sources close to the company, the site writes that Cupertino id interested in standardizing this new port connector for all its products.

The implementation of the new 19-pin connector port on the iPhone 5, iPad Mini and iPod Touch 5G is credible, but launching a new and improved versions of the iPad 3 seems unlikely at present.

Of course, there is the possibility that these products will be presented at the September 12 event, but for now they are simply rumors.
