Foxconn to open factories in the US?

The company is reportedly considering opening a number of factories in the US.

According to Sina News, Foxconn is evaluating Detroit or Los Angeles as potential factory sites.

Chinese newspaper DigiTimes reports that the plants will focus on LCD television production.

Due their complexity, the US-based factories won’t produce Apple devices.

Foxconn has been criticized lately for the working conditions of its employees.

Digitmes also writes that Foxconn CEO Terry Guo announced that a training program for U.S.-based engineers will soon be launched.

The company plans to bring American engineers to Taiwan or China to take part in product design and manufacturing.
