According to a new report, an iMac refresh is imminent.

Fox News reports that the new iMac lineup will arrive ‘imminently’ and claims that Apple may introduce the revamped devices at the iPhone 5 launch event on September 12.

Clayton Morris from Fox News reported:

“Get ready, because the iMacs are coming.

I’ve been hoping for an iMac update and it looks like my wish is about to come true! Multiple sources tell me that a new lineup of desktop machines from Apple is imminent.”

Morris believes that the devices may not include high-resolution Retina displays, contrary to previous rumors.

The next generation iMac will come with expanded SSD capacities, Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors, better graphics, USB 3.0 support and a thinner design thanks to the removal of the optical drive.

Apple’s current iMac models are the 21- and 27-inch versions, which were last updated in May 2011.
