Apple released on Thursday the first update to iOS 5, the iOS 5.0.1, which was meant to solve the problems of battery life reported by a large number of users.

However, the update doesn’t seem to have brought many changes since some users are still complaining. What is worse, additional problems have come to light.

Users are now complaining of problems when connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi, problems with the reception of messages and even malfunction with the microphone (during telephone conversations, for example).

As sites reported about this issue, Apple responded with the following statement.

“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices. We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”

Hopefully, the issues will get a solution soon.
