Apple plans to erelease iOS 5.0.2 very soon to address battery life issues, reports say.
Since the launch of the iPhone 4S last month, users have been complaining of a short battery life in the device. Apple’s recently released iOS 5.0.1 failed to offer a solution to the iPhone 4S battery issues.
German site Macerkopf cited an unnamed Apple software engineer who claimed that Apple wants iOS 5.0.2 to provide the iPhone 4S with 40 hours of standby usage and 10 hours of active use.
The source also added that iOS 5.0.2 should arrive “no later than next week.”
An official confirmation from Apple has yet to arrive.
The website also writes that the main reason for the battery’s short life is the applications running in the background, such as Time Zone Find, and the constant search for a better network.
Apple is also reportedly working on iOS 5.1, which is expected to drastically improve Siri, the voice-activated personal assistant on the iPhone 4S.
In iOS 5.1, Siri will allegedly be able to control taking photos and shooting videos when prompted by the user’s voice.
