iOS 5 available since this fall?

iOS 5, the next major update of the operating system for iPhone / iPod Touch and iPad, won’t see the light of day until fall, according to sources cited by the site Techcrunch.

As rumors predicted a presentation of the new IOS at the same time as Apple’s Keynote for iPad 2, no announcement was made by Steve Jobs’ company. If the rumor is confirmed, it will be the first time Apple delays a firmware.

Techcrunch announced that Apple will present iOS 5 at its annual conference in June, the WWDC, but won’t make it available until a few days / weeks later, as usual. Also, the new iPhone 5 won’t be equipped with the iOS 5 at its marketing, but with an IOS 4 version. This release of the iOS 5 in the fall coincides perfectly with new iPad, announced for the end of 2011.

The iPhone 5, also expected during the conference, will benefit an iOS 4.x initially, before receiving the update to iOS 5.
