According to latest speculation, a new Maps applications, as well as improvements to the camera, are likely to debut at the upcoming WWDC.

Analyst Shaw Wu believes that a new iOS Maps application will be presented at WWDC this month. The app will be a “greatly enhanced” version with 3D capability.

Wu said that Apple plans to reduce its dependence on Google with this new app.

“We hear the key reason why AAPL decided to do this is that it believes it can deliver a much better use experience in Maps, not to mention provide further differentiation for its mobile devices business,” he wrote in a note to investors on Friday.

The analyst added that the iOS 6 will also bring “more powerful sharing of photos.”

The Wall Street Journal reported recently that Cupertino is looking to announce a new iCloud photo sharing functionality.

Wu wrote that the company is planning a “notable upgrade” for the Camera and Photos application on iOS.

Besides the sharing functionality, the app will allow users to use functions that are available with third-party applications such as Instagram, Snapspeed and so on.

In addition, Wu estimates that “several” upgraded Macs will be introduced by Apple. the MacBook Pro and iMac have recently been rumored to be presented at WWDC, equipped with Intel Ivy Bridge processors and high-resolution Retina displays.
