New rumors claim that the Apple touch pad could come out in a few months.
The information comes from Citi analyst Richard Gardner who said in a note that the next generation Apple tablet will be launched in February, adding that the device will double the resolution of Apple’s current model, the iPad 2.
In addition, Gardner claims the upcoming iPad3 will sport a Retina HD screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and whose manufacturing has been entrusted to Sharp. The first models are said to have been already completed and shipped from the factory.
The analyst estimated that Apple is expected to sell between 12 and 13 million iPads in the last quarter of 2011.
Gardner also wrote that there are no insurmountable technical barriers to launching this high-resolution iPad, despite rumors to the contrary.
The release date for the iPad 3 is almost similar to those of the iPad in 2010 and the iPad 2 this year in March.
