Apple’s component suppliers are facing mass production issues that will constrain shipments of both products in the first quarter of 2013.

According to DigiTimes, shipments of the two devices are likely to be constrained until next year.

The publication writes that display panels for the iPhone mini have seen a yield rate of just 22 % from AU Optronics, LG Display, and AU.

Consequently, the company may miss the ten million iPad mini shipment target for the fourth quarter of 2012.

The new iMacs are also facing issues in the production of the display by LG.

This may be the reason why the 21.5 and 27-inch iMacs have yet to be released on the market.

The report also states that shipment targets for the iPad mini and iMacs are expected to be reached during the first quarter of 2013.
