Design changes to the new iPad mini have reportedly halted the production of cases for the device.

Citing an unnamed source, Japanese blog Macotakara reports that “large OEM mobile accessory maker” had to stop production of the mini tablet’s case due to a “form shift.”

According to the insider, the “round shape” of the handset may have changed.

However, the site wrote that it the difference between the final product design and what the case manufacturer expected was “not clear.”

Photos of what are claimed to be parts for the rumored mini tablet were leaked online by UkrainianiPhone last week.

Recent reports have indicated that invitations to an iPad mini media event could be sent out by Apple on October 10, with an official release expected a week later.
