Leaked pictures of the mini tablet’s battery have surfaced online.

Two images that are rumored to present the battery of the iPad Mini have been published by MacRumors.

The battery appears to be a 16.7 watt hour battery, placing it between the iPhone 5’s 5.45 watt hour battery and that of the iPad 3’s 42.5 watt hour battery.

The component uses 3.72 volts and holds a charge of 4,490 mAh.

The unit in the pictures has an Apple part number of 616-0641 and an actual model number of A1445.

The site writes that the authenticity of the part cannot be confirmed, but that the markings are in line with those seen on batteries from other Apple devices.

Recent rumors point to an October 23 launch event for the iPad Mini.
