iPhone 5 design: assembled next iPhone is thinner than iPhone 4S

Photos comparing the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5 in terms of thickness have been posted online.

Based on leaks that have circulated on the net lately, repair firm iResQ has posted pictures of a fully assembled iPhone 5.

The site notes that the iPhone 4 and 4S are thicker than the next model judging by the width of the glass backplate.

One of the pics shows the iPhone 5 sited next to an iPhone 4S, with the upcoming device appearing visibly thinner than its predecessor.

Various reports have claimed that the iPhone 5 will be 7.6 millimeters thin.

Apple is expected to debut the smartphone at a live keynote next week.
