iPhone 5 design concepts: Ciccarese Design teardrop concept vs. iPhone SJ concept

Speculation on the possible features of Apple’s next-gen iPhone is as always at its height. Some have let their imagination fly and turned their dreams of what the iPhone 5 could possibly look like into more concrete projections.

Ciccarese Design teardrop concept

Italian conceptual studio CiccareseDesign recently presented a mockup is of the forthcoming iPhone.

Inspired by products like Apple’s Magic Mouse, the concept is equipped with a white face plate, a metallic backplate, as well as three buttons on the left for volume and silent mode.

This concept also features a front face and a white back metal, as well as the usual three buttons for volume and vibrate mode.

CiccareseDesign moved the sleep button from the top to the right side for a teardrop shape, with a thinner shape on the edges and thicker in the middle.

Needles to say, these pictures are only creations of the designers and do not in any way represent the final design of the model.

iPhone SJ concept

Last month, Antonio De Rosa, founder of ADR Studio, imagined a concept of the iPhone 5 with a slightly larger screen and the firm’s logo inlaid on top of the screen.

The device integrates the A6 processor with a target of 10 million pixels for the camera.

The volume buttons suffered no changes. However, the location of the SIM card was changed as it appears on the top edge of the iPhone.

De Rosa envisioned the display as edge-to-edge and it’s a “totally glass capacitive screen on a polycarbonate lightweight body.”

The author of the concept called it the iPhone SJ, in honor of Steve Jobs.
